Chomp & Stomp

The Pink Stones is an American six-piece country-rock band led by songwriter/ guitarist/ frontman Hunter Pinkston from Athens, GA. Their debut album, Introducing… The Pink Stones, was released on the New West Records imprint Normaltown Records. The journey to the debut album began in 2015, when freshman college-student (and then punk rocker) Hunter Pinkston bought a special single by one of his favorite bands. “It was the song ‘Brass Buttons,’ Pinkston says. “One side was The Lemonheads and the other was Gram Parsons’ original version. I bought it because I was a Lemonheads fan, but I flipped it over and that was the one of the first times I’d heard Gram Parsons. I was like, I didn't know I liked country until right now.’” Inspired by his discovery, Pinkston not only began tracking down and listening to Parsons’ catalog, but took the well-travel music fan path of seeking out similar artists and influences. A native of Albany, Georgia, Pinkston grew up in a family of music fans with two sisters who played guitar and a father who lived the rock’n’roll life as a young man. “Dad was a drummer in some local, South Georgia bands during the 70s. He opened for the Allman Brothers and others and continued to be a big fan after he quit playing.” Pinkston began forming his own bands in high school and gravitated toward punk and hardcore until his B-side epiphany. “When I started revisiting what I had heard as a kid that's when I started writing my own songs. I really started listening to Neil Young which was music I had heard as a kid, but didn't really think twice about it at the time.” Pinkston’s exploration of musical styles and maturity as a songwriter accelerated in 2016 when he transferred to the University of Georgia Music Business program and found himself immersed in the vital and diverse Athens music scene. “I was flirting with country and country rock for a couple of years when I moved to Athens,” Pinkston says. “Once I got here, I had a one bedroom apartment, I worked at a coffee shop, went to school, but other than that, I didn't do much. I was still too young to go to bars, so I would deep dive into music on the Internet. Also, Americana and country-tinged rock is very strong in Athens, so moving here definitely opened my mind more.” Pinkston also began meeting the musicians, Will Anderson, Logan Brammer, Adam Wayton, and Jack Colclough, who would form the core of The Pink Stones. “At first I was playing my new material with people I’d played hardcore with,” Pinkston says. “As they started to fall out, new people fell into place. Will, Logan, and Adam were all in the music business program with me, and Jack was playing drums in another band that we share members with and started filling in when our first drummer quit." The final Pink Stone, steel guitarist John Neff, also began his tenure as a fill-in when he sat in on pedal steel for a few shows and decided to stay. A founding member of Drive-By Truckers, Neff is a long-time veteran of the Athens music scene and has brought his experience and a sense of legacy to the group. The mix of pedigree influences, musical experience, and fresh perspectives have paid off in the tracks of the The Pink Stones first album. It was recorded at Athens' Chase Park Transduction Studios and produced by Henry Barbe (Drive-By Truckers, Deerhunter) and The Pink Stones.

It could only be fate, a young group of misfits crossing paths when rock n' roll needed it the most. Seven Year Witch formed in 2018 around the talents of brothers Seth and Spencer Burden, and vocalist Aaron Langford. They soon recruited guitarist Beau Anderson, and the group quickly blossomed into a fierce shock-to-the-heart to the East Coast. In 2022, Seven Year Witch made their long awaited debut in Los Angeles, California. The band toured cross country with platinum selling Buckcherry, playing sold out nights at the Whisky A Go Go, and their own show headlining The Viper Room. For years the band has made the road their home, accruing their cult-like following night after night. Their latest single "Weaponize Your Love" is the band's most dangerous and aggressive release to date. Co-written by Atlanta's critically acclaimed hit songwriter Johnny Andrews, this track highlights the band's loud, electrifying hard rock swagger; A true testament to their perseverance in an industry that only values quick chirps of soulless instrumentals, industry-plants, empty cash grab lyrics. Even capturing the heart of Eddie Trunk, who is quoted saying "Blown away by their high energy kick ass no nonsense music and live performances. For sure a band to watch!" By all accounts, bearing witness to Seven Year Witch gives you the feeling you're witnessing lightning in a bottle - something important, ambitious, and truly rare.

Atlanta spawned from family and friends. Female-fronted and five guys backed, six members stir up a synthesis of sounds that are sure to make your nervous system feel something. Make you wanna dance, shake those hips, bob your head, move your arms, shake it off. It’s groove music mixed with move music, a unique brand of jam-based post pop psychedelic rock. Experts have studied the mysterious name RUJEN for centuries, eager to understand its meaning and the music surrounding it. It's only as of recent times that one particularly determined genre-scientist was able to describe the word and the band's music as "some sort of indie-psych-hippie-jazz-rock". Research continues still to this day.

Stardust Sonata is an American band, creating an energetic blend of vintage and modern style Rock and Roll. The band is: Dillon Byrd (guitar), Devon Richir (drums), Elgin Nation (vocals), and Jason Watkins (bass). Born out of the worldwide down time that came in 2020, these four talented individuals - connected through various past projects - came together to make music that is fun, energetic, and most importantly, that they would want to hear. Pulling in elements of blues, funk, metal and garage rock, Stardust Sonata is crafting their own take on guitar-driven rock and roll and having a damn good time doing it. In their short existence, they have made their presence felt in the Atlanta scene. The band has shared the stage with national acts, as well as local favorites, in venues big and small in the Atlanta and North Georgia area. Now this solid four-piece is set on bringing their sound to the rest of the world.

Hailing from Southend-on-Sea, Misnomer formed in 1999 primarily to experiment with new sounds and ideas. John was working with keyboards and drum samples. After several months of defining a new genre, Electro-Punk, gigs were on the horizon and John needed a band. He needed look no further than his brother, 16-year-old James. His teenage enthusiasm and obsessions with all things "rock" added a powerful dimension to the Misnomer sound. For a band so young, they had already developed a sound lying between New Order's melodic rhythms and Radiohead's angst and power, showing a musical maturity way beyond their teenage years. After a number of successful gigs, they were developing a deservedly good reputation within the London circuit, and on the internet, where their tracks were receiving thousands of downloads a week. Russian bass player Anton was a later addition - seeing the band at a live performance, he liked the original sound and ended the night as the third Misnomer, adding his unique lyrical style to the proceedings. Dazed, a powerful all-round guitarist was initially drafted in to help fill out the "live" sound but rapidly became an integral part of the overall musical direction when the rest of the band recognised her far-reaching talent. Misnomer worked with vocalists Michelle Beazley and Becki Seddiki before Kerri-Anne Bundock joined the band and her beautiful female vocal fitted the bill perfectly. Misnomer are a rare breed; with much instrument swapping, influence sharing and rock 'n' roll shenanigans, their lazy effortless Sonic Youth class and all singing all writing style has led them to the forefront of the industry's attention. They have headlined major London venues, supported the likes of Mel B (Spice Girls) and Chesney Hawkes in concert, and achieved over 300,000 MP3 downloads of their music worldwide. The sky is most certainly the limit for them
