Sullivan

The Little Theatre on the Square, founded in 1957, sits on Sullivan's town square on Harrison Street with a capacity of 420. It is the only professional theater between Chicago and St. Louis, and has entertained over 2 million patrons since opening. An Actors' Equity Association-affiliated house, it programs Broadway musicals and comedy, producing five mainstage shows from mid-June to mid-August. It also runs youth shows plus fall, Christmas, and spring productions. The theater draws nearly 50,000 patrons each year from across Illinois and the Midwest, pulling professional performers from around the country. For live music in Sullivan, the Little Theatre is essentially the whole story, its musical productions serving as the anchor of the city's performing-arts calendar.
