Evening Star is a Detroit jazz and neo-soul band led by drummer Tariq Gardner, blending Afro-Cuban rhythms and Black American music. They won NPR Detroit's 'Sounds Like Detroit' contest in 2025 and released projects Gateway Drug (2023) and Vice Tape (2024).
