City Winery Chicago, PUSH 365 Event Group, and TrustLive Entertainment Presents In the Key of 3: Sweetest Day Edition live on Tuesday, October 13th at 7:30 PM! Born in Los Angeles, but attending high school and college in East Kansas, Marqueal Jordan has always had a love and ear for music. While learning the Tenor Saxophone at age 12, Marqueal discovered his singing voice crooning popular songs to the school girls on the blacktop. After singing in University of Kansas’s Inspirational Gospel Voices Choir, and leading a song or two in several college bar bands, he took singing seriously upon moving to Chicago in 1995. Marqueal channelled his love for Prince, Stevie, Al Green, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Maxwell and D’Angelo into a soulful vocal style and unique frontman persona. The result is a confident stage presence that leaves audiences questioning if he sings better than he plays Saxophone. Marqueal has released three solo albums which include songs that feature him vocally. With longtime creative partner D.J. INC, he is featured on a Chicago Steppers classic “Grown And Sexy” that has been in rotation for 20 years. He’s also seen success on the charts with his most recent solo vocal single, “Dot Dot Dot (The Sequel)”, reaching #8 on the Urban Influencer R&B/Soul Chart. Besides being co-lead vocalist and Musical Director for the legendary Chicago based R&B/Soul collective Midnight Sun Band, Marqueal has also provided vocal support for Oleta Adams, Patti Austin, Peabo Bryson, Faith Evans, Joe, Marcus Miller, Eric Roberson, David Sanborn, Isaiah Sharkey and Sy Smith.
