Jinjer is a Ukrainian metal band from Donetsk. Jinjer was originally formed in 2009 by Maksym Fatullaiev (vocals), Dmitriy Oksen (rhythm guitar), and Vyacheslav Okhrimenko (drums). However, the band considers 2010 as its official year of formation when Tatiana Shmailyuk replaced Fatullaiev on vocals and Roman Ibramkhalilov was picked up for the lead guitar. Since their inception, the band has released three full-length albums and three EPs. The band has mentioned many of their influences for their music, including Guano Apes, Slayer, Death, Pantera, Anathema, Lamb of God, Gojira, and Twelve Foot Ninja. While explaining their influences, the band have noted other metal acts like Opeth, Karnivool and Textures, in addition to groups across the spectrum of R&B, soul, funk, jazz, reggae, and hip-hop acts such as Cypress Hill and House of Pain. They released the live album Alive in Melbourne in November 2020.They returned to Kaska Record Studios in Kyiv in March 2021, and their fourth full-length album Wallflowers was released on 27 August 2021. In March 2022, it was reported that Jinjer had "paused" their career to focus on relief efforts in Ukraine after Russia invaded the country one month prior. In June 2022, Jinjer announced that they received permission from the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture to leave Ukraine and tour as ambassadors of the nation. In June 2024, Jinjer confirmed the completion of their fifth studio album and announced plans to debut new songs on their upcoming North American tour. The record, titled Duél, was released on 7 February 2025. They released their debut EP Primal in March 2015 and their debut album The Infinite Nothing in April 2016. The band announced their return to the studio in March 2017 and released Dark Future in November of the same year. They toured with Archspire, Inferi, and Vulvodynia in 2022 before releasing their third full-length album, "Time Will Take Us All" on March 3rd, 2023, preceded by four singles. The album greatly outperformed their previous releases, and featured a more updated style of production, maintaining their core sound from the first two albums, but also incorporating the use of Chaney's clean vocals on certain songs, leaning more into progressive death metal with large spurts of technical death metal. Crystal Lake is a Japanese metalcore band from Tokyo, formed in 2002. The band comprises guitarists Yudai Miyamoto and Hisatsugu Taji, bassist Mitsuru, and drummer Gaku Taura, who is a former member of Nocturnal Bloodlust. After Shinya Hori's departure, Miyamoto is the only member of the original line-up who remains in the band. Crystal Lake have released five studio albums. Their latest studio album, The Weight of Sound, was released on 23 January 2026.
