Chicago Jazz Festival

Hoboken, New Jersey, USA (1982 - present) Prodigio Claudio, is an excellet cuatro player (Cuatro is a Puerto Rican guitar). He was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on October 30, 1968 to Puerto Rican parents. His father Eligio Claudio Roldan and his mother Maria Socorro Diaz decide to move to PR in 1977 where he settled in the town of Caguas. Since childhood he showed a great interest in the Cuatro. Caludio accompanied his parents on these binges even though he did not understand Spanish. It is for this reason that his father enrolled him in music classes with Tomas Roldan in Caguas. The teacher saw the talent of the boy amd tells his parents that he needs to take lessons with a specialized person and recommends Don Maso Rivera. His father started taking him to Toa Alta, where he was for 7 months only and then Don Maso tells Claudio himself that what he lacked was experience and that this was going to learn on the street. From there he began to bear fruit traveling to Chicago in 1982 and being the youngest child to accompany the Teatro Ramito PR Acevedo Turin. He later traveled to Hawaii where he also accompanies continuous Ramito polished on the street. Prodigio Claudio grew so fast and he joined Pleneros del Quinto Olivo at the age of 13. Thereafter he's been involved with El Gran Combo, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Raphy Leavitt, Bonny Cepeda, Elias Lopez, Chamaco Ramirez and for four years was accompanying Tavines Pumarejo. He now works to teach and deliver Cuatro lectures in the United States on the Puerto Rican Cuatro. He has recorded 11 CDs as a soloist and also was the first to make a video Cuatro instructional in 1999. He has participated in major concerts and touring in Spain, France, Venezuela, Colombia, Santo Domingo, Los Angeles, Chicago, Mexico, Orlando, Georgia, Indianapolis, Hawaii and many others.
