Kids Eat Free are a ska/punk band from Garden City, Michigan formed in 2008. Originally consisting of Quinlan Oliver, Nick Collins, Taun Mitchel, and Matthew Renaud (on Bass/Vocals, Guitar/Vocals, Saxaphone/Vocals, and Drums, respectively) as "The Squids", personal disagreements between band members led to Renaud position being replaced by Collins in December of 2008. There was one live album produced with the original lineup, "THIS SUCKS: Live at the Token", although the band begrudgingly labels it a "practice effort" as it was a surprise gift from Olivers brother when the band itself wasn't anywhere near ready to record.
To fill the space left open after Renaud's departure, "Hot" Carl Bermudez, an acquaintance of the band, was brought in to play guitar. Dillon Martinez, member of the now defunct side project of Oliver's, learned trombone basically overnight and joined the group (also as a vocalist). Trumpeter Cody Wiley also joined the band recently.
