Boardman Arts Park began in 2017 as a volunteer effort to reclaim unused green space and has grown into Delaware's primary live-music destination. The park offers concerts throughout the year in a park setting right in the heart of Delaware. Its developing indoor/covered stage, called the Whimsy Venue, received initial grant support from the Delaware County Board of Commissioners in 2023 and a $1 million state strategic-fund award toward a full capital campaign. On the programming side, the 2026 season opened concert programming in May with Full Moon Fever, a Tom Petty tribute band, then moved into the Delaware Music Series on June 7 and June 14, featuring local bands. August brings Symphony @ Whimsy, featuring the Central Ohio Symphony. The annual Delaware Music Festival spotlights local bands with up to eight live performances across the day. Beyond the park, Roop Brothers Bar is a downtown Delaware fixture for live classic rock and blues acts from around the country.
