Dr. Valade's Brass Band is a Wayne State University brass band from Detroit, led by New Orleans jazz legend and drummer Shannon Powell, known as a recurring second-line opener at the Detroit Jazz Festival.
Miles Electric Band is a jazz-funk group formed to celebrate Miles Davis's electric era, led by Vince Wilburn Jr. They gained recognition through the 2004 documentary 'Miles Electric: A Different Kind of Blue.'
Joe Lovano's Paramount Quartet is a jazz ensemble led by Grammy-winning saxophonist Joe Lovano, featuring guitarist Julian Lage, bassist Asante Santi Debriano, and drummer Will Calhoun, debuting at the Village Vanguard in 2024 and releasing their ECM Records debut in 2026.
Tia Fuller is a Grammy-nominated jazz saxophonist and composer from Aurora, CO, signed to Mack Avenue Records; her sister Shamie Royston is a jazz pianist and regular ensemble member.
