Belknap Lookout
The Belknap is West Michigan's seasonal, pop-up outdoor concert venue located at Belknap Park in Grand Rapids. It sits about a mile from the city center and offers 360-degree views of downtown Grand Rapids from the top of the venue. Belknap Park is home to two annual festivals: the Breakaway Music Festival and the Upheaval Festival. Upheaval is an outdoor hard-rock-focused festival held each July. The park has previously welcomed acts such as Papa Roach, Set It Off, and Jinjer for Upheaval, while Breakaway draws electronic artists like Fisher, Subtronics, and Two Friends. Outside of those anchoring festivals, the Belknap Neighborhood Association organizes a summer concert series and block parties for the surrounding community. The neighborhood's live-music footprint is largely tied to these seasonal events rather than year-round club programming, making Belknap Park the clear center of the area's music calendar.
