Tool is an American progressive metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1990. Gojira is a French heavy metal band from Ondres. Founded as Godzilla in 1996, the band's lineup – brothers Joe and Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu (guitar), and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass) – has been the same since the band changed its name to Gojira in 2001. Gojira has been known for its progressive and technical death metal styles and lyrics that often feature themes of spirituality, philosophy, and environmentalism. The band has gone "from the utmost obscurity during the first half of their career to widespread global recognition in the second".

Daniel Robert Elfman is an American film composer, singer, songwriter, and musician. He came to prominence as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter for the new wave band Oingo Boingo in the early 1980s. Since scoring his first studio film in 1985, Elfman has garnered international recognition for composing over 100 feature film scores as well as compositions for television, stage productions, and the concert hall.

The Prodigy are an English electronic dance music band formed in Braintree in 1990 by producer, keyboardist and songwriter Liam Howlett. At their commercial and critical peak, the group also included MC and vocalist Maxim, dancer and occasional live keyboardist Leeroy Thornhill, and dancer and occasional vocalist Keith Flint. The Prodigy have been described by AllMusic as “the premiere dance act for the alternative masses” and “the Godfathers of Rave”. They are regarded as pioneers of breakbeat-driven genres such as breakbeat hardcore and big beat, and Howlett has described their style as electronic punk. Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia. Formed in 2000, the band's lineup of Troy Sanders (bass/vocals), Brent Hinds, Bill Kelliher, and Brann Dailor (drums/vocals) remained unchanged for 24 years. Hinds departed Mastodon in March 2025, and died five months later in a motorcycle accident in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ministry is an American industrial metal band formed in Chicago in 1981 by Al Jourgensen. The group began as a synth pop project and later became one of the early contributors to industrial rock and industrial metal during the late 1980s. Ministry has undergone frequent lineup changes, with Jourgensen remaining the only consistent member. Contributors to the band’s studio or live work have included Nivek Ogre, Chris Connelly, Gibby Haynes, Burton C. Underoath is an American rock band from Tampa, Florida. It was founded by lead vocalist Dallas Taylor and guitarist Luke Morton in 1997 in Ocala, Florida; subsequently, its additional members were from Tampa, including drummer, singer and last remaining original member Aaron Gillespie. The band's current lineup consists of Gillespie, keyboardist Christopher Dudley, lead guitarist Timothy McTague, bassist Grant Brandell, and lead vocalist Spencer Chamberlain. Originally, the band identified as a Christian group; they have since distanced themselves from Christianity.

Animals as Leaders is a Washington, D.C. based instrumental/progressive-metal project formed by guitarist Tosin Abasi in 2007. Their self-titled debut album was released in April 2009 by Prosthetic Records. Animals as Leaders was formed "out of the ashes" of guitarist Tosin Abasi's previous band, Reflux. The heavy metal record label Prosthetic Records saw Abasi's guitar work and asked him to create a solo album for them. Abasi initially declined, feeling such an endeavor would be "egotistical and unnecessary". When Reflux disbanded, Abasi decided to take the label's offer. The name Animals as Leaders was inspired by Daniel Quinn's 1992 novel Ishmael, which addresses anthropocentrism. Abasi coined the name as a reminder "that we're all essentially animals". The project's first album, Animals as Leaders, was recorded in early 2008. Abasi recorded all guitar and bass tracks on the album; drums and various synthesized effects were programmed by engineer Misha Mansoor. The album was released April 28, 2009 by Prosthetic Records. Their second album, Weightless, was released November 8, 2011, with the addition of Javier Reyes and Navene Koperweis on rhythm guitar and drums, respectively. After touring in support of the record, it was announced that Navene Koperweis would be leaving the band. He was replaced by Matt Garstka for further touring duties. Thrice is an American post-hardcore band that formed in Irvine, California in 1998. The lineup consists of Dustin Kensrue (vocals and guitar), Teppei Teranishi (guitar, keys), Eddie Breckenridge (bass), and Riley Breckenridge (drums). In 2000, Thrice signed with Sub City Records and released two LP's. The first, Identity Crisis (2000), only received 1.5 stars in the AMG review and little buzz. The second, The Illusion of Safety (2002), was widely acclaimed and received attention from major record labels. Even though Thrice's music has always included metal influences, The Illusion of Safety contained a heavier metalcore sound. The album was recorded in Beltsville, Maryland and the track The Beltsville Crucible reflects this. In 2003 Thrice signed up with Island Records and released The Artist in the Ambulance, which featured more metal oriented songs while keeping true to their hardcore influences. In 2005 a DVD outlining their entire career to date was released under the title If We Could Only See Us Now. It included a CD with live tracks from the Apple Store and various b-sides. Thrice released their fourth full-length album, Vheissu, on October 18, 2005. The album was characterized by many critics as being experimentally different, using non-traditional Thrice elements in the process. From keyboard melodies ("For Miles") to Japanese music-box undertones ("Music Box") to chain gang chant choruses ("The Earth Will Shake"), Vheissu introduced a new sound to the band's post-hardcore roots. UK producer Steve Osborne, whose past credits include many Brit-pop hits, was sought by Thrice to gain a new perspective on the songwriting process, enabling the band to expand their musical influences and produce a different album. The album garnered widespread critical acclaim and peaked at #15 on the Billboard 200. The band releasedRed Sky, an EP comprised of various b-sides as well as live recordings, shortly after Vheissu. The "Fire" disc features the heavier post-hardcore sound traditional Thrice fans will quickly embrace, harking back to their pre-Vheissu albums. The "Air" disc brings a whole new element of electronic elements and delayed guitar riffs to Thrice's sound. In "Earth", much like Dustin Kensrue's solo album, "Please Come Home", Thrice introduces an indie-folk sound combining intricate piano and acoustic guitar. Thrice's sixth studio album Beggars was released digitally through Vagrant Records in the UK on August 9, 2009 and in the US on August 11 with a physical release containing bonus material pencilled in for September 15. These dates deviate from the original proposed release date of October 13 because of a leak via Vagrant Records web player, which has meant the artwork for the album has also changed. The first single to be taken from the album is All the World Is Mad and was first made available through Guitar Hero: World Tour on July 23. Dustin Kensrue has described the album as being "more visceral and more raw - both in the songwriting and in the overall sound. It moves with a different energy than any of our past records. It was born out of us playing together in a room, almost as a backlash to the giant headgame that was The Alchemy Index" and has been well received critically. The seventh studio album Major/Minor came out on September 20, 2011 through Vagrant Records. Yellow Belly, Promises and a few other songs were made available for the listeners to stream online before the release date. The album received extremely positive reviews from many online websites. Alex Djaferis of Absolutepunk.net gave Major/Minor a rating of 95%. Tracks like Promises and Listen Through Me reflected a natural progression from the sound Thrice created in Beggars, which was widely appreciated by the early listeners. Thrice decided to take a break from being a full time band on November 21, 2011. Sunami is an American hardcore punk band formed in San Jose, California in 2019. Originally intended as a short-lived joke band by members of various San Francisco Bay Area hardcore bands, Sunami sought to parody the ignorant style of many hardcore bands on their 2019 demo Demonstration. However, after gaining notoriety for their violent debut live performance, the band continued past their planned time frame. They have since released four EPs, with their debut self-titled album being released on June 14, 2023. A 2023 article by Revolver credited them as "in the upper echelon of bands dominating the hardcore zeitgeist".

Filter is an American rock band formed in 1993 in Cleveland, Ohio, by singer Richard Patrick, along with guitarist and programmer Brian Liesegang. The band was formed when Patrick desired to start his own band after leaving Nine Inch Nails as their touring guitarist. Their debut album, Short Bus (1995) received platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), supported by the single "Hey Man Nice Shot". After the album, the band would go through the first of many lineup changes, leaving Patrick as the only consistent member across all releases.

Between the Buried and Me is a progressive metal band from Raleigh, North Carolina, comprised of former members of metalcore acts Prayer For Cleansing and Glass Casket. Recording began in early 2015 with long-time producer Jamie King, and it is scheduled to be released on Metal Blade records on July 7, 2015. Toadies are an American rock band formed in 1989 in Fort Worth, Texas, best known for the song "Possum Kingdom". The band's classic lineup consisted of Vaden Todd Lewis, Lisa Umbarger, Darrel Herbert, and Mark Reznicek (drums). The band released two studio albums before disbanding in 2001 after Umbarger left the group. The band reformed in 2006 and released their third album No Deliverance two years later. In 2010, they re-released the album Feeler with Kirtland Records. The band's most recent album, The Charmer, was released in May 2026.

Downswing is a five-piece metalcore band from Albany, New York. They rose quickly through the ranks to become one of the leading acts on Albany's HC scene. Downswing were formed in early 2017 by guitarist Anthony Salvaggio, bassist Brandon Jared, and drummer Nick Manzella, who had previously worked together in a metalcore band called Animal. The musicians were eager to change up their sound, and as it happened, so was vocalist Brett Colvin, who has been singing in pop-punk bands for nine years without enjoying much success. After recruiting Colvin and guitarist Chris Arnold, Downswing's lineup was complete, and in March 2017 the band released a three-song demo, titled Swingstyle.

Caskets, formed in 2018 under the name Captives, are a British post-hardcore band from Leeds, England. The band was founded by bassist Christopher McIntosh, who played rhythm guitar at the time, Benji Wilson (lead guitar) and bassist Lee Horner, who together left their previous project Faultlines to pursue new projects. The band was completed with James Lazenby (drums) and Matthew Flood (vocals). Flood had previously played guitar and sang in the pop punk band Silhouettes. On September 23, 2018, the band released their debut single Ghost Like You via the YouTube channel Dreambound. The EP of the same name was announced for April 2019. Before the release, the band released two more singles, Signs and Find a Way, before the EP was released on their own on April 26, 2019. Afterwards we went on a European tour with the Australian post-hardcore band Hands Like Houses and another show as the opening act for Bad Omens in Hanover. In the summer, Caskets made several festival appearances, including in Germany and Sweden, and played a few shows as the opening act for the Japanese metalcore band Crystal Lake in Germany. The band toured the UK in September 2019 for a number of concerts with Acres and Parting Gift. There they played a new single called Falling Apart for the first time. After the tour, founding member Lee Horner left the band for personal reasons. Christopher McIntosh switched from rhythm guitar to bass. Former Glamor of the Kill guitarist Craig Robinson was hired as the new rhythm guitarist. On March 1, 2020, Caskets released the previously only played live single Falling Apart, again via Dreambound. The band was signed by SharpTone Records a short time later. With the announcement of being signed, Caskets announced their new single Glass Heart, which was released on December 4, 2020. Haste the Day is an American metalcore band formed in Carmel, Indiana in 2001 and signed to Solid State Records. Their name is derived from a lyric in the hymn "It Is Well with My Soul" by Horatio Spafford. The band released an EP titled That They May Know You, in 2002, followed by five studio albums: Burning Bridges (2004), When Everything Falls (2005), Pressure the Hinges (2007), Dreamer (2008), and Attack of the Wolf King (2010). The group disbanded in March 2011 but reformed in 2014 and released their sixth album, Coward, in 2015. Their seventh and latest album, Dissenter, was released in May 2026.

sace6 is an alternative metal/rock band based in Los Angeles, California. Vianova is a German metalcore band from Berlin, formed in 2014 by brothers Felix and Paul Vogelgesang. The band initially focused on metalcore, but has since expanded their sound to include elements from other genres, resulting in a more diverse and dynamic style. So their sound has evolved over time, incorporating influences from soul, jazz, R&B, and 80s synths. Vianova has experienced line-up changes over the years, including the addition of bassist Raoul Zillani in 2020. Future Palace is a German post-hardcore band founded in 2018, hailing from Berlin. The band was formed at the end of 2018 by vocalist Maria Lessing, guitarist Manuel Kohlert, and drummer Johannes Frenzel. The latter had years of experience in bands like Redcraving, Whoeverthouart, and 8BCC. They met Maria Lessing when she provided a feature for their former band. With the idea of forming a new band later, the three created a WhatsApp group named "Future Palace," which eventually became the band's name. On the same day, their third single "Illusionist," featuring Tobias Rische of Alazka, was released along with a music video. With the release of their single "Ghost Capter" on July 17, 2020, the band announced their debut album "Escape," which was released on September 18, 2020. The album tells the story of how all people are naturally social beings. If people feel lost or lonely, those they trust will support them. They seek sympathy and understanding from their loved ones, feeling needed in their embrace, even during the most difficult times. No Resolve is an American rock band from Detroit formed in 2005 by lead singer Oscar Pegorraro, lead guitarist Jason Hatmaker, drummer Derek Bjornson, and bassist Dennis Patterson.
