Sterling
The Rusty Fox Alehouse & Wine Bar, established in 2014, is a locally owned spot in downtown Sterling. It carries 125 craft beers, 600-plus whiskies, and 450-plus wines, and has been voted a top-10 pub in Illinois. Programming includes live music, live comedy, trivia every other Wednesday, and food, beer, and wine tastings. Comedy nights have drawn national touring performers. Beyond the Rusty Fox, the Sterling Municipal Band, founded in 1928, runs a free 10-week "Music Under the Stars" concert series every Wednesday evening from June through August at the Grandon Civic Center. Annual events like Sterling Street Fest and Hops on the Rock also bring live music to the downtown area.
