White Collar Crime was formed as Me and the Boys in 1989 and debuted on November 9, 1989; same day the Berlin Wall fell. Initially a recreational outlet for lawyers at a large law firm, WCC gained proficiency and a following in the NYC club scene sharing the bill with the Spin Doctors, Milo Z, Reverend Tribble and the Angels, the Wailers, Shamekia Copeland and others over the years. The band was formed by Hank Goldsmith and Matt King who were joined by Steven Altman and Alan Sanders. The band has enjoyed many great players as members with Matt King and Alan Sanders remaining in the band to this day. Former members of the band include Craig Wehringer, Ed Feig, Scott Kolassa Jason Langley all on bass, Frank Piazza, Andy Schlesinger on guitar, Joe Scharf on keys, Jeanmarie Paolillo, C.A. Paris, Judy Tint, Susan Stein, Krissy Garber on vocals and Charlie Sanders on sax. The current line up is Matt King (guitar vocals), Scott Warren (guitar vocals) Alan Sanders (drums) Kevin MacKall (bass) David Gelman (vocals, Keys, guitar) Andrea Urban (vocals). Albums Work Release Program (1995) Behind Bars (2000) If You Call (2003) Open Road EP (2008) Floor Aisle Room (2012) WCC is generally seen in the better clubs of the NY area such as Arlene's Grocery, Mercury Lounge, the Cutting Room, the Bitter End, Drom and Ulysses while summer shows are out east in the Hamptons at the reknown Stephen Talkhouse. Live and in the studio, the band has been joined by many of their friends such as Dana Fuchs, Eric "Roscoe" Ambel (Joan Jett, Steve Earle, Yayhoos, Del-Lords), Kat Dyson (Prince, Cindy Lauper, Zucherro, B-52s) , Ann Klein (Joan Osborne, Toshi Regan, Tabitha Fair), Steven Terry (Whiskeytown, The Damnwells) and others. The first two albums were recorded and produced by Frank Piazza and Lance McVikar while the albums since then have been produced at Cowboy Technical Services by Tim Hatfield. Over the years there have been other bands called White Collar Crime but the only one WCC has been at all confused with is a punk band which was also based out of NYC. The two bands sound nothing alike with the other band fronted by Sander Hicks doing the industrial punk scene. WCC has been WCC since August of 1991 predating any other band using the name.
