MoonShadow Tavern is Tucker's long-running neighborhood rock haven on Lawrenceville Highway, hosting live music primarily on weekends with occasional weeknight shows. The bar draws a loyal DeKalb County crowd with a rotating roster of local and regional rock, blues, and roots acts, plus trivia and DJ nights. The lineup spans classic rock to indie, psychedelic bluegrass, and swampy swing. Reviewers call it one of the better places on the north side of Atlanta for live music, noting that it hosts local and regional acts that punch well above their weight. Open since 2005 and relaunched in December 2012 under new ownership, the tavern pairs its stage with pool tables, keno, and a bar-food menu. Beyond the Tavern, the city of Tucker runs a free First Friday concert series each summer month from May through September, with each show starting at 7 p.m. at the Church Street green space.
