Avondale Estates
Avondale Estates punches well above its size as a live-music suburb. Its anchor is the Avon Theater, part of the Historic Avondale Estates Tudor Village building constructed in 1924 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, converted into a theater in 1938. The venue is an intimate music and performance space spanning 6,372 square feet across two floors, with a history that includes performances by the Allman Brothers Band, R.E.M., Drivin N Cryin, the B-52s, and Elvis Presley, and a capacity of up to 280 on the main floor plus 60 in the upstairs balcony. Today it books a wide mix of local and touring acts, having hosted more than 65 performances in its first year back, featuring bands such as Yacht Rock Schooner, Mudcat, and Mothman Moth Band. At the brewery end of the street, The Lost Druid is a 100% woman-owned and family-operated independent craft brewery and distillery. It offers live music performances weekly, including a recurring old-time jam on Sundays and Saturday evening live sets from local acts.
