Decatur

Since 1991, Eddie's Attic has been an intimate live music venue for performing songwriters, operating as a true listening room with a superior sound system and acoustics where audiences are asked to silence their phones and hear the music. The room runs 600 to 700 shows a year, holds 177 people, and puts the audience just feet from the stage. Genres skew toward acoustic, Americana, folk, and singer-songwriter. Every Monday night the venue hosts an open mic for local and touring singer-songwriters. Artists who built their following here include Shawn Mullins, Sugarland, The Civil Wars, John Mayer, and Crystal Bowersox. Eddie's Attic is the anchor of Decatur's live-music identity: Decatur has long been a springboard for undiscovered talent, with Eddie's Attic at the center of it.
