Missio at The Loft

MISSIO is an American electronic alternative duo formed in Austin, Texas in 2014. The project was founded by vocalist and producer Matthew Brue and later joined by producer and instrumentalist David Butler. Known for their genre-blending style and emotionally charged lyrics, MISSIO quickly gained attention for their unique fusion of electronic, pop, and rock influences. The name MISSIO, Latin for “mission”, reflects Brue's personal journey through addiction recovery and spiritual exploration. The duo began gaining traction after their track "Twisted" appeared on a Spotify playlist in 2015, leading to viral success. They made their major-label debut with Loner in 2017 under RCA Records. The album included breakout hits like "Middle Fingers" and "Everybody Gets High," earning them critical acclaim and a solid fanbase within the alternative music scene. Discography Loner (2017) Features the singles "Middle Fingers" and "Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea". Themes center on isolation, rebellion, and emotional vulnerability. The Darker the Weather // The Better the Man (2019) Continues the band’s introspective exploration with tracks like "I See You" and "Temple Priest" featuring Paul Wall. Can You Feel the Sun (2020) Released during the COVID-19 pandemic, the album is more reflective and spiritual. Standout tracks include "Can You Feel the Sun" and "Wolves."
