East Bluff
East Bluff is a residential Peoria neighborhood anchored by Glen Oak Park, a green space with mature trees, walking paths, and the Peoria Zoo and Luthy Botanical Garden . Its one dedicated live-music venue, Glen Oak Amphitheatre, sits inside that park. The amphitheatre covers three acres adjacent to a freshwater lagoon, with bench seating for 1,000 and room for an additional 6,000 on the surrounding grass. It was developed through an agreement between the Peoria Park District and the Peoria Municipal Band Commission, and the site was filled in 1960 to create the venue. The amphitheatre is well known for hosting weekly summer concerts by the Peoria Municipal Band, and in the 1970s acts like the Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, and Peoria native Dan Fogelberg played its grounds. Today, all Sunday evening Municipal Band concerts are held on the Fred Huber Bandshell in the amphitheatre at 7:00 p.m., running weekly from June through August. The 2025 summer series consisted of 24 performances by a 50-piece band, with programs featuring vocal soloists, instrumental soloists, marches, overtures, and Broadway and film music. Admission is free.
