Warehouse District
Peoria's Warehouse District sits southwest of downtown in a cluster of repurposed industrial buildings dating from the 1880s through the 1920s, and its live-music options reflect that mix of history and conversion. The Contemporary Art Center (CAC), housed in a renovated warehouse downtown, is the most program-rich of the three. Its recurring series "Live at the Five Spot" is a bi-monthly Friday night event featuring regional talent performing R&B, jazz, blues, pop, rock, and more. Live music is also featured every Friday night in addition to that series, and local bands cover all genres alongside salsa dance nights and an open-mic for poetry. Kelleher's Irish Pub & Eatery, billed as Peoria's most authentic Irish pub, sits on the historic downtown riverfront in one of its oldest warehouses. During summer, the pub extends its live music outdoors, closing down the block, setting up tables and chairs in the street, and drawing both local talent and musicians from around the country. Rhythm Kitchen Music Cafe rounds out the district's music offerings as a cafe with a live-music focus.
