Jacksonville

Jacksonville, a small city in Morgan County about 35 miles west of Springfield, spreads its live music across bars, American Legion and Amvets halls, and a dedicated music hall. Twisted Tree Music & Event Hall on E. Morton Ave. is the city's primary live-music destination, with both indoor and outdoor spaces available for concerts and events. A local music column in The Source described Twisted Tree as consistently booking acts on the cusp of wider recognition, including cover bands such as Deja Voodoo, voted one of the best cover bands in the region by the Illinois Times in 2023. Floyd's 104 Grill, just outside Jacksonville in Meredosia, pulls in local acts like the Robert Sampson Trio on a regular basis. Jacksonville Main Street runs the Blues & Brews Festival, which brings additional live music to the city each spring. Bar venues, Legion halls, and Amvets posts round out a scene that leans on local and regional acts playing for familiar crowds.
