Lewistown
Lewistown is a small Fulton County city southwest of Peoria, with a population around 2,000. Its annual Music in the Park festival earned a "Governor's Hometown Award" in 2021. Two venues carry most of the live-music activity. Big Horse Vineyards, out on County Hwy 9, is a winery and event destination whose summer "Sunday Fundays" put local artists on the outdoor patio alongside stone-fired pizzas. When the weather turns, the venue's event center hosts indoor shows including murder mysteries, comedians, dinner theater, and dueling pianos. Downtown on South Main Street, Rocket Tap is a small-town bar and grill known for its welcoming atmosphere that offers regular entertainment and live music. The bar draws both locals and visitors with live music events on Tuesday nights and has brought in touring country and Americana acts as well. Between a rural vineyard stage and a Main Street bar, Lewistown covers a wider range of live-music settings than its size might suggest.
