Palmyra

Vixen Hill Winery, on Palmyra Road just outside the small town of Palmyra, is the area's primary live-music stop. The winery runs music every Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., drawing a rotating cast of solo acts and small groups. Past performers have included Fairly Odd Duo, California Jeff, Lisa 6 Strings, Jason McKenzie, and Junior Stevens, with seasonal bookings that stretch from summer through October. The winery dates to 1999, when owners Gene and Vera Pence planted their first Norton grapes; today it produces dry, semi-sweet, and sweet wines. Food runs to lite bites, sandwiches, and flatbread pizza, making it a full afternoon outing. The schedule also includes occasional special events, such as a Cigar Box Guitar Festival. For Palmyra, the winery's weekly Sunday sessions represent the heart of the local live-music calendar.
