Paxton punches above its size for live music in Ford County. The anchor is The Cadillac, a converted former NAPA Auto Parts store on W. State St., turned into a warehouse-style concert hall by the team behind Grandstand Concerts. Standing-room shows hold up to 800 patrons, making it the largest indoor music facility in Ford County. The room regularly books emo and '80s nights, up-and-coming country artists, and tribute bands, and most shows run Friday through Sunday nights. On the quieter end of downtown, Prairie City Wine Room is an upscale wine bar serving wine, beer, and snacks inside the historic Commandery Building on N. Market St. The room keeps a live music schedule, drawing acts for relaxed evening sets. The Uptown Tavern of Paxton rounds out the options as a third local spot. Together, the three venues give Paxton a range that runs from full-production ticketed concerts to low-key wine bar sets.
