South Pittsburg
The Princess Theatre, a 350-seat historic venue on Cedar Avenue in downtown South Pittsburg, has been a community landmark since 1921. Its stage has welcomed acts including Bill Monroe and The Carter Sisters. Today the calendar mixes country, big band, and tribute acts: recent and upcoming bookings include the Glenn Miller Orchestra, country singer Linda Davis, and The Cleverlys. The theatre also serves as a concert venue during South Pittsburg's annual National Cornbread Festival, hosting named touring acts. South Pittsburg is a small city of roughly 3,100 people, and the Cornbread Festival is the town's largest recurring event. The Princess is the city's one dedicated live-music room, and its programming leans toward Americana, country, and classic-era tribute shows rather than a nightly bar scene.
