Mötley Crüe is an American heavy metal band formed in Hollywood, California, in 1981 by bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee, with guitarist Mick Mars and vocalist Vince Neil joining shortly after. The band has sold over 100 million records worldwide and achieved seven platinum or multi-platinum certifications, nine Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart. Including "Dr. Feelgood" (1989), their only studio album to reach number one. Twenty-two Top 40 mainstream rock hits, and six Top 20 pop singles. Mötley Crüe became known for their hedonistic lifestyles and androgynous image. Their first two albums, "Too Fast for Love" (1981) and "Shout at the Devil" (1983), established their hard rock and heavy metal sound, while their third release, "Theatre of Pain" (1985), marked their transition into glam metal. The band is also recognised for elaborate live performances featuring pyrotechnics, roller coaster drum kits, flame-throwing guitars, and theatrical stage effects. Their most recent studio album, "Saints of Los Angeles," was released on June 24, 2008. What was initially intended as their final concert took place on December 31, 2015, and was later released in theatres and on Blu-ray in 2016. After a period of inactivity, Vince Neil announced in September 2018 that Mötley Crüe had reunited and was recording new material. On March 22, 2019, the band released four new songs as part of the soundtrack to their Netflix biopic "The Dirt," which is based on their autobiography of the same name. The soundtrack reached number one on the iTunes All Genres Album Chart, number three on the Billboard Top Album and Digital Album Sales charts, number ten on the Billboard 200, and achieved top 10 positions internationally. The autobiography also re-entered The New York Times Best Seller list. In 2022, the band embarked on a co-headlining North American tour with Def Leppard, marking their first major tour in seven years. Mötley Crüe has undergone several lineup changes, with Nikki Sixx remaining the only constant member. Vocalist John Corabi replaced Vince Neil from 1992 to 1996, while drummers Randy Castillo and Samantha Maloney filled in after Tommy Lee’s departure in 1999; Lee returned to the band in 2004. In October 2022, Mick Mars announced his retirement from touring after 41 years, and John 5 joined as his replacement. Tesla is an American hard rock band from Sacramento, California, formed in late 1981 by bassist Brian Wheat and guitarist Frank Hannon under the name City Kidd. By 1984, vocalist Jeff Keith, guitarist Tommy Skeoch, and drummer Troy Luccketta had joined, forming the lineup that appeared on most of the band's early albums and tours. The band adopted the name Tesla shortly before recording their first album, as another group with a similar name already existed. Tesla gained recognition during the 1980s hair metal movement. Their debut album, "Mechanical Resonance" (1986), included the singles "Modern Day Cowboy" and a cover of "Little Suzi" by Ph.D. The second album, "The Great Radio Controversy" (1989), peaked at number 18 on the Billboard 200 and featured the top-ten single "Love Song". In 1990, the band released the live acoustic album "Five Man Acoustical Jam", which reached number 12 on the Billboard 200 and included a cover of "Signs" by the Five Man Electrical Band. Their third studio album, "Psychotic Supper" (1991), peaked at number 13, and the fourth album, "Bust a Nut" (1994), reached number 20 on the charts. After a breakup in 1996, Tesla reformed in 2000, releasing the live album "Replugged" and continuing to tour. Tommy Skeoch left the band in 2006 and was replaced by Dave Rude. Subsequent releases include the studio albums "Into the Now" (2004), "Forever More" (2008), "Twisted Wires and the Acoustic Sessions" (2011), "Simplicity" (2014), and "Shock" (2019), as well as the EP "All About Love" (2024). Tesla has sold at least 14 million albums in the United States. The band’s early lineup included lead vocalist Jeff Keith, guitarists Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch, bassist Brian Wheat, and drummer Robert Contreras, who was soon replaced by Troy Luccketta. Tesla toured with artists such as David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, and Poison, which contributed to their association with the glam metal scene. Throughout their career, Tesla has released live albums including "Standing Room Only" (2002) and "Mechanical Resonance Live" (2016), and a covers collection, "Real to Reel" (2007). The band has performed at festivals such as Sweden Rock Festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, and Rocklahoma, and participated in tours with other 1980s rock bands. Tesla has been involved in charity work, including benefit concerts for victims of the Station nightclub fire and food drives linked to their music releases. Extreme is an American hard rock band consisting of singer/guitar virtuoso Nuno Bettencourt, singer/lyricist Gary Cherone, bassist/singer Pat Badger and drummer Kevin Figueiredo. The band first formed in 1985 in Boston with then drummer Paul Geary (who later got replaced by drummer Mike Mangini) until the band decided to go on an indefinite hiatus that ended up lasting more than 10 years (1996 - 2006). The band's influences range from the progressive hard rock and elaborate multi-vocals parts of Queen, the energy of Aerosmith and Van Halen, as well as Beatlesque pop and a Led Zeppelin organic feeling. Consequently, Extreme's music is never easy to classify; it's not just heavy metal, hard rock, or pop. Their albums cover all of that territory with a sweeping ambition and a social consciousness to match. Although a mostly hard rock band, it was the Everly Brothers-style acoustic ballad, "More Than Words," that crossed them over into the mainstream. It hit number one and the follow-up single, the acoustic-based pop rocker "Hole Hearted," hit number four. They released two albums in the hey day of glam metal but received diminished attention from the mainstream following the grunge explosion following the release of Nirvana's "Nevermind" in 1991. Despite this, they released two more albums before the hiatus. Vocalist Gary Cherone went on to join Van Halen in 1997, replacing Sammy Hagar, and the group released "Van Halen III." He left Van Halen soon after, in 1999 and formed Tribe of Judah, with fellow Extreme members Pat Badger and Mike Mangini. The group reformed in 2004 for a short tour of Boston and Japan as well as reforming in 2006 for a small U.S. tour. On November 26th 2007, it was announced that Extreme would come back in 2008 with a new album & tour. In July 2007 Bettencourt quit Satellite Party for the Extreme reunion with Cherone and Pat Badger. On November 26, 2007, the band announced plans for a world tour in the summer of 2008 with King's X as well as a release date for their new album, Saudades de Rock, produced by Bettencourt. Kevin Figueiredo, who played with Bettencourt in DramaGods and Satellite Party, took over drum duties for the band. Original drummer Paul Geary would still remain involved with the band, albeit in a management position. 2015–present: Six In a May 2015 interview with Eddie Trunk, vocalist Gary Cherone said that Extreme had been writing and demoing new material for their follow-up to Saudades de Rock, and would enter the studio in the fall to begin recording. In a September 2016 interview, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt revealed that Extreme had been working on approximately 17 songs for their new album, and added, "We're about 17 songs into it. We're just wrapping them up. We've got to do vocals, some guitar. Slowly but surely." In 2016, the band released Pornograffitti Live 25: Metal Meltdown, an audio/video presentation of its 2015 concert at Las Vegas' Hard Rock Casino. During the 2017 KISS Kruise, the band invited original drummer Paul Geary to join them on stage to play "Hole Hearted". In June 2018, Extreme toured Australia with Mr. Big, which marked the latter's first tour of Australia and Extreme's first tour of the continent since 1993. After their Australian tour, they went on to tour Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok and Taipei. Extreme headlined Shirock 2019 alongside Scottish hard rock band Nazareth. On October 19, 2019, the band performed in India in front of over 30,000 fans in Ukhrul. On February 17, 2023, the band began to release a different teaser each day, to end on February 28. On March 1, 2023, Extreme released the single "Rise" and announced that 'Six" would be released on June 9. On April 19, 2023, Extreme released the official videos for "Banshee" and "#Rebel" on their YouTube channel.
