Pella
Douwstra Auditorium, housed in Central Hall on Central College's campus, was built in 1939 and originally designed as a chapel. A $2.2 million renovation transformed it into a regional concert hall. It is the largest auditorium on Central College's campus, with seating for over 600 people. The Central College Department of Visual and Performing Arts uses the hall regularly, with events including Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and steel band concerts. Outside acts also perform here, as when vocal jazz group The Four Freshmen played the auditorium in 2025. Central College programs run year-round and span genres from jazz to steel drums. Pella also has its own City Band, made up of local residents, which performs every Thursday night in June and July.
