Liquor Store @ Outer Limits Lounge

The Liquor Store was a bar, restaurant, and music venue in Portland, Oregon. Established in 2015, the business operated in a space previously occupied by the Blue Monk, a jazz club and restaurant, in southeast Portland's Sunnyside neighborhood. It was named the city's best new bar in Willamette Week's annual readers' poll in 2015 and 2016. The Liquor Store's upstairs had a bar and the owner's large vinyl record collection on display. The downstairs venue hosted live music and disc jockeys, playing a variety of genres, especially electronic music.

Tin Foil Phoenix is comprised of vocalist Maz, guitarists Fish and Phil Cholosky, Bassist Paul Robinson and Percussionist Lyle Giesbrecht. Based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, the Western Canadian landscape serves well as a fitting metaphor for their powerful and expansive sound. TFP stretched the boundaries of modern rock on their major-label debut "Living In The Shadow Of The Bat", where captivating melodies and spoken-word musings combined with elements of Hip-Hop, Progressive and Riff Rock. Now the band is back with (Grammy nominated & multi Juno award winning) producer Brandon Friesen to realize a killer collection of stellar, road-tested tracks that combine a series of all-new twists and turns with the signature sounds of the band. "AGE OF VIPERS" was written largely during TFP's extended periods of touring in support of "LITSOTB" and is an album deep with songs that translate incredibly to the stage, allowing for the always powerful and electrifying live modern rock experience that is Tin Foil Phoenix. The new album features trademark TFP spoken-word thrillers like "Not How the West Was Won" (about dealing with suicide) and "Have a Nice Day", energetic alt-rockers like "Hurry Home" (exploring the enigma of the prodigal son), explosive anthems such as title track "Age of Vipers" as well as the band's popular cover version of The Soggy Bottom Boys "Man of Constant Sorrow". With the release of "AGE OF VIPERS", Tin Foil Phoenix continue to consistently deliver intriguing and memorable songs that are unlike that of any other Canadian band.
