Wabash
Wabash sits about 47 miles southwest of Fort Wayne and punches above its size for live music, with two performing-arts anchors, both operated by the nonprofit Honeywell Foundation, right on Market Street downtown. The Honeywell Center is a block-long arts complex whose Ford Theater presents rock, country, Broadway, and comedy performances. The Ford Theater seats 1,500. Past and current bookings have ranged from Skillet and Lorrie Morgan to Deana Carter and Mitchell Tenpenny. The Wabash Valley Music Association also runs an annual multi-show series at the Honeywell Center. A short walk away, the Eagles Theatre was built by the Fraternal Order of Eagles and opened in 1906, with a large first-floor auditorium used initially for vaudeville. In 2017 it closed for nearly three years for an extensive $16 million renovation. The building now houses a theater for movies and live entertainment, music lesson rooms, recording studios, and a fully-restored grand ballroom. Programming has included a blues series and a comedy series, and the room is known for an intimate feel between performers and the audience.
