Hickory Corners

Hickory Corners is a small census-designated place in Barry County with a population of 313, and its live-music life centers almost entirely on one address. The Gilmore Car Museum sits on a historic 90-acre campus and houses a collection of over 300 vintage automobiles and motorcycles. Its free Wednesday Night Cruise-Ins run every Wednesday from May through September, 5 to 8 p.m., pairing live music with George and Sally's historic diner and the Carriage House bar. A separate Summer Concert Series of outdoor, open-air performances fills out the warmer months. Past concerts have featured tribute acts covering Tom Petty, Bob Seger, 1980s arena rock, and 1950s/60s girl groups. The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra has also performed on the grounds, playing works including Gershwin's "An American in Paris." Concerts are walk-in only, with guests bringing blankets or folding chairs for lawn seating.
