Jenison
Jenison's live-music options lean toward structured, ticketed events rather than a bar-and-club scene. The Jenison Center for the Arts anchors the area with a 1,251-seat performance hall and a separate Black Box space for smaller, more intimate performances. The hall opened in December 2013 and was purpose-built to convert between concert and theater configurations. It regularly hosts regional touring artists, holiday concerts, and recitals alongside student and community productions, making it the primary destination for seated, produced shows in the western Grand Rapids suburbs. The other option is entirely on the water. Steamboat Park, on the Grand River just minutes from downtown Grand Rapids, is home to the Grand Lady Riverboat, which runs Live Music Cruises, Sightseeing Cruises, and Private Charters. The two-deck boat holds around 126 passengers, offers beverage service, and carries a sound system for live music. Expect local bands, scenic river views, and a casual atmosphere on board.
