Shelbyville's live-music scene is small but anchored downtown. Capone's Downtown Speakeasy, right in the heart of downtown Shelbyville, is a non-smoking tavern with live music. It runs karaoke on Wednesdays, open mic on Thursdays, and live music on Fridays, and has been open since 2016. The bar has been voted the number-one nightspot or neighborhood bar in Shelbyville for seven consecutive years and won Business of the Year 2025 from the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce. Patrons note the 1920s-themed decor, including model car ceilings. Beyond the bar, Blue River Memorial Park hosts outdoor concerts, including acts like the Sam Morrison Band playing southern rock. The city also runs a free summer concert series featuring regional and national bands across a range of genres.
