Mr. Biggs Place at 12402 Blue Ridge Blvd is Grandview's dedicated live-music room, focusing on jazz, Motown, and blues . It draws not just emerging local players but established names from the regional and national jazz circuit, and the small room, capacity around 35, makes for an intimate feel where the crowd tends to come together. Owners Tammie Echols-Biggs and Carlos Biggs, who took over the space in May 2021, set out to build a proper music venue for south Kansas City and the Grandview area. Music runs Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. Beyond Mr. Biggs, Grandview is also home to a newer addition to the KC metro: the Grandview Amphitheater, an open-air, 5,000-capacity venue near two major highways that has hosted events like an R&B Festival. Together the two represent Grandview's range: an intimate neighborhood jazz lounge and a large outdoor stage pulling in regional draws.
