Oak Grove's live-music scene centers on The Oak Tavern on S. Broadway. The restaurant and bar at 1107 S. Broadway doubles as a live-music venue and is listed on the Kansas City Live Music Calendar. Music is central to the place, with local bands as well as regional and national touring acts performing on both indoor and outdoor stages. Weekdays often feature open mics, while weekends typically bring scheduled concerts and a bigger crowd. Monday nights are given over to karaoke, hosted by E-Rock, running 6 to 10 PM. Beyond music, the menu runs to comfort food, burgers, pizza, BBQ and smoked meats, alongside craft cocktails and local and craft beers. For a small city east of Kansas City, The Oak Tavern carries most of the town's live-music weight on its own.
