Mt Vernon
Renfro Valley Entertainment Center has anchored Mt. Vernon's live-music identity since 1939, when founder John Lair launched what would become one of Kentucky's most enduring performance traditions. Often called Kentucky's Country Music Capital, the complex sits just off I-75 and welcomes touring country stars, bluegrass acts, southern gospel ensembles, classic rock, and stand-up comedians. The complex operates two distinct spaces: a seated New Barn Theatre and a historic, general-admission Old Barn. The venue holds 1,490 people. The relatively compact size keeps audiences physically close to performers, making every show feel personal in a way that larger arenas cannot match. Recent and upcoming bookings include Diamond Rio, Tracy Lawrence, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, and Scotty McCreery. With more than 86 years of continuous operation, the center has earned a reputation as one of the most iconic live performance venues in the region.
