Belvidere
The Apollo Activity Center, historically known as the Apollo Theatre, is a concert venue in downtown Belvidere's North State Street Historic District, on the north bank of the Kishwaukee River. Built in 1922, it was remodeled and reopened in June 2022 as a concert and live music venue. Also known as Apollo Night Club and Apollo Theatre AC, the venue offers ticket sales and table service for most events, and its banquet hall hosts concerts and Mexican dances alongside other events. The booking range is unusually broad: acts have included Spineshank, Primer 55, Powerman 5000, 12 Stones, and Los Rieleros del Norte, as well as Los Caminantes, Los Tiranos Del Norte, Banda Los Lagos, and Banda Zeta. That mix of hard rock, metal, regional Mexican, and Latin banda makes the Apollo the clearest sign that Belvidere's live-music draw runs well beyond any single crowd or genre.
