A suburb in the Madison area

Oregon, Wisconsin sits about 15 minutes south of Madison, and its live-music options are modest but intentional. Co-owner Jamie Bush described the village as a bedroom community where residents shouldn't be "forced to leave anytime you want to have entertainment", a gap the two venues here are working to close. Bodihow Brewing Company is a brewery that doubles as much more, pairing a Mesoamerican food menu and coffee bar with a bike shop that shares the same floor. It hosts live acoustic music every other Saturday night, making it the most regular live-music stop in town. The Wine Reserve occupies a converted bank building on North Main Street in downtown Oregon and programs occasional live music alongside wine tastings and other events. It carries craft beers, a full bar, and a self-serve wine dispenser with 16 flavors. Together, the two spots give Oregon a small but real local live-music footprint for a suburb its size.
