Little Big Town is an American country music band. Formed in 1999, the band has four members: Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet. There is no lead singer in the band; instead, they trade lead vocal duties as well as rely on the harmonies of the four members. Little Big Town's self-titled 2002 debut for Sony's Monument Records was panned critically and did not sell commercially. The album had only one minor hit single, "Don't Waste My Time," and it wasn't long before Little Big Town was dropped from the label. Little Big Town resurfaced on the Equity Music Group label (formed by country singer Clint Black), and on October 4, 2005, released their second album, The Road to Here. The new album was well-received critically, and spawned the smash hit single "Boondocks." Three further singles were released from the album, including the Top 5 hit "Bring It on Home." Their second album with the Equity label, A Place to Land, was released in 2007. Although, not long after its release, the label folded. Little Big Town then re-released the album a year later via Capitol Nashville. Two of the album's singles were minor Top 40 hits. In 2010, the group returned with "Little White Church," the lead-off to their fourth studio album, The Reason Why, which was released on August 24, 2010.

The Oak Ridge Boys is an American country and gospel vocal quartet originating in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The four-part harmonies and upbeat songs of band has spawned dozens of country hits and a #1 pop smash, earning them Grammy, Dove, CMA and ACM awards, and garnering a host of other industry and fan accolades. The group was founded in 1943 as the Oak Ridge Quartet. They became popular in Southern gospel during the 1950s. Their name was changed to The Oak Ridge Boys in the early 1960s, and they remained a gospel group until the mid-1970s, when they changed their image and concentrated on country music. The lineup that produced their most well-known country and crossover hits ― such as "Elvira" (1981), "Bobbie Sue" (1982), and "American Made" (1983) ― consists of Duane Allen (lead vocals), William Lee Golden (baritone), Richard Sterban (bass), and, until his 2024 death, Joe Bonsall (tenor). Golden and Allen joined the group in the mid-1960s, and Sterban and Bonsall joined in the early 1970s. Golden was removed from the group in 1987 and replaced by Steve Sanders until 1995, when he left and Golden rejoined. Ben James replaced Bonsall on tenor vocals in 2024, just before Bonsall's death from complications of ALS. The group was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015.

Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent are veterans of Bluegrass music having some twenty years experience between the two of them from long tenures with Bluegrass and Country legends Doyle Lawson and Ricky Skaggs. In 2003, long time friends and colleagues, Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent, were asked to perform on a Koch Records recording titled "Christmas Grass Vol.2 2004. Jamie and Darrin recorded a well known Christmas song, "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem", with just a guitar and mandolin and their two voices. Their version of this song rose to number one on the Prime Cuts of Bluegrass. It was at this time that Jamie and Darrin decided that they would like to perform together more often and perhaps record again. This eventually evolved into the early planning and structuring of a new duo and band that would become Dailey and Vincent. It has been suggested that they have created a new business model for forming a Bluegrass band that new artists are sure to emulate.
