Fremont
Fremont, about 35 miles northwest of Omaha, is a city of roughly 27,000 where the dedicated live-music options are limited but real. The anchor of the scene is Southern Style, located at 648 N. Broad St. Fremont's only dance hall, it books live bands, DJs, and karaoke, and pairs the music with a pool hall with four pool tables and a dedicated darts room. Two-Step Tuesdays are a regular fixture, with dance lessons starting at 7 p.m. Karaoke runs every Thursday. The venue leans country, with booked acts that have included outlaw-country artist John Eason from Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. Beyond Southern Style, John C. Fremont City Park hosts live music on Thursdays in June and July, and Five.0.Five Brewing Company also draws live acts.
