Clinton

Clinton's two dedicated live-music spots sit at opposite ends of the city and book very different kinds of music. Downtown, The V'ue on 5th Avenue South programs blues, jazz, acoustic acts, and singer-songwriters alongside comedy shows and themed nights in an intimate speakeasy setting. Past performers have included Harlem Hayfield, Big Al and the Heavyweights, and Amelia White. On the other side of town, Wide River Winery sits on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River at its widest point, and hosts local live music on select Sundays from June through September. Sets run two hours on the deck and admission is free with the purchase of wine or snacks. Acoustic singer-songwriters and string bands make up the typical bill, with acts like Lewis Knudsen, a songwriter known for his acoustic sets, and Frankie Joe and Kinfolk, a string band known for playing mostly originals, among the regulars.
