Dowagiac's live-music action concentrates in the Sister Lakes area, where two breweries on County Road 690 do most of the heavy lifting. Sister Lakes Brewing Company is a family-friendly craft brewery with two outdoor biergartens that puts on live music, comedy, classes, and workshops year-round. Its private event space, The Town Hall, holds up to 97 people and has a six-tap bar, AV hookups, and a fenced outdoor patio. The brewery also hosts local musicians regularly and keeps the community coming in with free Thursday trivia. Strand Brewery & Kitchen occupies a converted bowling alley, with reclaimed wood from the old lanes giving the room a distinct character. It is a family-friendly brewery and restaurant known for live music on most Fridays and Saturdays. The outdoor seating area features lake views and fire pits, drawing crowds especially at sunset. The Strand has brought in regional bands and tribute acts, with its own events page listing ticketed shows.
