Benton Harbor
Benton Harbor's live-music scene splits between a large performing arts hall and a neighborhood brewery stage. The Lake Michigan College Mendel Center is southwest Michigan's premier location for performing arts and events, with a 1,559-seat Jenkins Theatre for world-class touring performances and the smaller Hanson Theatre for student and intimate productions. The Mainstage is used primarily for concerts, Broadway and family stage shows, and other special events. The Livery is a brewery, pizzeria, and live music venue in the Benton Harbor Arts District. It holds 250 people and serves as southwest Michigan's premier music venue, featuring both national and regional touring acts as well as local performers every Friday and Saturday night. Shows run Thursday through Sunday, with the last Sunday of each month reserved for traditional Irish music, and the first Monday is open stage. Past bookings have drawn acts across a wide range of styles, including artists such as Brendan Bayliss, Andy Frasco, Patty PerShayla, and Dixons Violin.
