Portage Des Sioux is a small city in St. Charles County, about 45 minutes north of downtown St. Louis, and its live-music scene is essentially one address: Longshot Marina, Saloon, and Tiki Bar, right on the banks of the Mississippi River. The Longshot Tiki Bar, formerly Mike La Rosa's Cabana Bar, is an outdoor tropical cabana bar with live music on weekends. The fully outdoor bar offers views of the Mississippi River and the surrounding river bluffs. Music runs Saturdays and Sundays, with the marina hosting more than 40 outdoor concerts each year. The schedule pulls in a range of local acts, from the Soulard Blues Band and Soulard Island Dudes to country-leaning and Americana acts like Outlaw Opry and Roaming Home, with afternoon sets typically running 3 to 7 p.m. The bar is a seasonal spot, and boaters can pull into about a dozen slips and walk straight to the music.
