Marblehead
Marblehead, a small Lake Erie peninsula village, draws live music mostly in the warmer months, when several nights a week you can hear music pouring out of restaurants and bars around town, covering everything from acoustic folk to jazz and rock. Hoover Auditorium, open since 1928 and set within the Lakeside Chautauqua community, is the area's anchor concert hall. It runs a seasonal lineup that brings national touring acts and family-friendly programs to an intimate, small-town setting. Recent bookings have included the Lakeside Bluegrass Festival, a silent-film organ series with organist Clark Wilson, singer-songwriter Judith Hill, and Fleetwood Mac tribute act Rumours. Past performers have included America, The Spinners, Amy Grant, and Three Dog Night. Red's Lakehouse puts on live music in its outdoor Cove space on weekends, with free shows running all summer long. Acts there have ranged across country, classic rock, blues, and acoustic styles. Rocky Point Winery rounds out the three venues as a waterfront wine-bar stop on the peninsula.
