Put-in-Bay
Put-in-Bay is known throughout Ohio and the Midwest for its live music, nightlife, and waterfront bars. The island's music season runs every weekend with an influx of DJs and live entertainment from across Ohio and the Midwest, with bands playing daily through the summer. The Beer Barrel Saloon on Delaware Avenue is famous for its live music and is also known as home to the world's longest bar. Its live music schedule begins on weekends in May and expands to daily shows from June through mid-September. Regional bands are a staple of its lineup. The Roundhouse Bar has been part of the downtown Put-in-Bay music scene for decades, with acts like Bob Gatewood and the Calabash Band among its regulars. Gatewood performs on the island over 100 times a summer, splitting his time between the Roundhouse Bar and other downtown venues. Mr. Ed's Bar books live music every night of the week and offers three distinct music spaces, from a relaxed main-level bar to a rooftop bar. Joe's Bar sits at the quiet end of Catawba Avenue near South Bass Island State Park, away from the downtown strip, and books live music throughout summer, with acts like Angel Tipping, Nick Brownwell, and Caveman & Ryan among its regulars.
