DJ Fatz (1991-2009) was an American hip hop artist from San Diego, CA. His career began in 2005 with the release of "Summer Dayz EP," which was quickly followed by a full length album of the same name in 2006. The album was released to poor reviews and a frustrated DJ Fatz abandoned plans for a second album. No recorded material of DJ Fatz surfaced in the years that followed until he appeared on the controversial "2K10" by hip hop super group Y2K 2K9. Planning to use this appearance to make a return to hip hop, that dream was sadly cut short when he was shot by Y2K 2K9's Tré at the end of the recorded rap battle. Despite the tragic violence that ensued, the song was still released on the album. Although his body was never recovered and the individuals involved were never prosecuted, it is widely accepted that DJ Fatz is dead. However, in 2011, DJ Fatz was featured on "The Sounds of D-Land" by Trevy James, leading many to believe that the legendary rapper is still out there somewhere.
