Sherman
Sherman is a family-oriented community located north of Springfield. Its live-music scene centers almost entirely on one outdoor facility: Sherman Village Park Amphitheater, owned and operated by the Village of Sherman, a state-of-the-art outdoor amphitheater opened in 2018 and home to outdoor movies, ice cream socials, and concert events. The amphitheater sits at 1200 Rail Fence Drive and is organized by the Village of Sherman. Each summer it runs a ticketed concert series, "Live @ The Amp," that leans heavily on tribute acts. Local and area bands have also appeared on the bill, including RockHouse, Brandy Kristen & the Revival, 3s Company, Deja Voodoo, The Brat Pack, and Sleeping Doggzz. Genre coverage is wide: past seasons have included classic-rock tributes, old-school hip-hop acts, and 90s throwback party bands. Food vendors such as Hickory River Smokehouse and drink sponsors have been part of the event setup. Ticketing is general admission, seating is first-come first-served, and the venue is pet-friendly and family-friendly.
