The ultimate live band pop punk + emo dance party!
A suburb in the Chicago area
The Vixen sits in downtown McHenry, a few steps off the Fox River. The theatre is equipped with premium sound and lighting and holds around 780 people, with a VIP balcony, three full-service bars, and free parking. A small stage in the front bar lounge handles more intimate sets. The room draws a wide range of acts: recent bookings have included ex-members of Mushroomhead and metal band Soil, along with blues artist Tab Benoit. A free summer concert series runs without ticketing requirements. Most concerts land on Friday and Saturday nights, with open mic on Mondays and a comedy night every Wednesday. The venue also produces a podcast called "Before the Show," dropping every other Friday with backstage access to performing artists. For McHenry's live-music footprint, The Vixen is the main dedicated venue; Petersen Park also appears on the local concert calendar.
