Steger

A suburb in the Chicago area

Steger's live-music identity runs through one address: Austin Community Tavern, a 150-person room on Steger Road that the owner has built into a destination for quality live music on the south suburban edge of Chicagoland. It draws audiences from as far as Naperville and Indiana, and past performers have included musicians who played with Chicago blues legend Buddy Guy. The booking skews toward blues, rock, and Americana, with acts like Mark Hummel and The Midnight Calls on recent schedules, alongside cover acts such as Expo 76, which works through AM radio hits from the 1960s and 70s. Beyond the tavern, Steger Days of Music brings 12 hours of live music to Veterans Park each summer.
