Fort Thomas
Fort Thomas is a residential Northern Kentucky city whose live-music identity centers almost entirely on Tower Park Amphitheater, an outdoor venue with a covered stage and sloped lawn seating. The Merchants & Music Festival, which started in 2003 in Fort Thomas's Cultural Arts District, now calls the amphitheater home and has hosted national acts including Bret Michaels, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Andrew McMahon, Dave Mason, Pure Prairie League, and Dustin Lynch, alongside local favorites such as Borderline, River City, and Tone Yard. Now in its 22nd season, the festival is one of Northern Kentucky's premier annual music events. Beyond the festival, the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra holds a summer concert series at the amphitheater, with free admission and free parking. The KSO's Newport Ragtime Band has also performed there, covering American music history from spirituals to ragtime, blues, and early jazz. Fort Thomas Coffee hosts occasional smaller acoustic performances, but Tower Park Amphitheater is the city's only dedicated live-music venue.
