Wilder

Wilder is a small Campbell County city of about 3,200 people, part of the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky metro. Its live-music history was long anchored by Bobby Mackey's, a country nightclub and honky-tonk where legends like Merle Haggard played, until the venue was torn down in 2024. Today, Barleycorn's Brewhouse, housed in a historic firehouse on Licking Pike, carries the city's live-music load. The brewhouse brews its own beers on-site, including the award-winning Crazy Norse, voted Cincinnati's Favorite Beer two years in a row, alongside Norse Up (brewed in partnership with Northern Kentucky University) and Valiant, an American Amber Ale created with Disabled American Veterans. Local acts perform weekly, with Tuesday evening shows on the patio a regular fixture. Weekend brunch also incorporates live music. The venue operates primarily as a neighborhood sports bar and brewery, so live music shares the calendar with trivia nights and SINGO rather than serving as the main draw.
